Folklore Lunch June 2016

After a typical Valencian lunch, El Grup de Danses Baladre de Muro,
a folklore group consisting of 15 musicians and 15 dancers entertained us with: “Del sud al nord, balls i cançons d’ací...”

For an hour, the performers demonstrated music and dances from the various Valencian regions
“from the south to the north and from the coast to the mountains";
from peasant dances in which they wore the old, traditional work clothes,
to the finery and ballroom dancing of the Valencian nobility”.
There was boleros, jacks, fandangos, seguidillas and mazurkas amongst other musical styles.
