Tuna de Xàbia 2017

This was the third time that the Tuna de Xàbia have entertained members of the Spanish
Culture & Cuisine group. This time the group were at the Nau Nau Club Nautico, Jávea Marina.

Prior to the meal, Angela explained that the Tuna de Xàbia are a very colourful group of
entertainers who are continuing a Spanish tradition which dates back to the early 13th century:
the sopistas were poor students who made the most of their musical talent to stroll
through the towns, visiting streets, squares and convents and entertaining people in
return for a bowl of soup and a few coins to help them pay for their studies.
