Tuna de Xàbia 2016

On Saturday 5th March, the group met again at Restaurant Club de Tenis, Jávea.
They enjoyed a typical Spanish meal followed by special entertainment from the Tuna de Xàbia,
a very colourful group of performers who are continuing a Spanish tradition which dates back to
the early 13th century. The sopistas were poor students who made the most of their musical talent
to stroll through the towns, visiting streets, squares and monasteries and entertaining people in
return for a bowl of soup and a few coins to help them pay for their studies.
