Special Walks

Camino de Santiago

Camino de Alba is a recent addition to the Camino de Santiago from Javea to Almansa in 12 (easy) stages. The total walk length provides the justification for an official Camino de Santiago pilgrim stamp.

We planning to complete the 12 stages at intervals during October 2017 - May 2018, collecting official Camino de Santiago stamps at each stage.

We would ask Members to sponsor us and the money raised will be donated between ‘Make a Smile’ charity, which is our donated Charity for 2017 and the Charity for 2018 (chosen by the Committee).
Please come to the Travel Team desk at the next General Meeting if you wish to sponsor us.  We thank you in advance.

All peregrinos to make their way to the tourist office in Pego to be ready to board the coach before 10:00.  The Tourist Office is on the left of the second roundabout on the CV700 (after passing the industrial estate on the left) and there is adequate parking in the vicinity.

The coach will depart for El Verger at 10:00 prompt and will set down at the ayuntamiento in El Verger ready to start the walk at 10:30. We will be greeted by the tourist information chief Angel Corral prior to departure from El Verger.

The walk length is 11 km, completely flat, and is expected to take around 3 hours to complete.  There is a petrol station near the half-way point that can be used as a pit stop, complements of Salvador, the station manager.

Peregrino accreditation stamps will be given by the tourist information in Pego on arrival.
We will then procede to have lunch at around 14:00 at Alejandro's restaurant, a short walk from the tourist office.

The cost of the meal plus the bus is expected to be €19 as before, provided at least 22 people use the bus.  This will be collected on the bus on the day.  Appreciate it if you have the correct amount with you.

The menu from the restaurant is attached.  Would all those wishing to join this walk please contact travel.charo@u3ajavea.org with their menu choices a.s.a.p. as the restaurant needs to be advised well in advance. The choice applies to the main course only and you should elect
