Jávea U3A

The President's Report (October 2017)

If brevity is the soul of wit then prepare to be amused.

Well, the Xiringitos are gone until next spring and the major national holiday has just passed. So, apart from All Saints’ Day it’s “Christmas is coming”.

The Jávea U3A is in full swing again with all groups functioning and new groups:
Anything IT Related, Cribbage and Canasta Basic. With our membership approaching 1,400, we welcome new groups and activities.

Since the last monthly general meeting, Barbara Gorrod led a trip to Cuenca and Zaragoza, and Angela Chantry and Tony Dearie hosted visits to Anna and a brewery in Xativa.

The Travel Group have a number of upcoming activities, including two day-trips to Valencia and one to Cocentaina. Charo Brown plans two walks along the Camino de Santiago in October and November.

Angela and Tony have announced their Spanish Culture and Cuisine events for early next year.

I look forward to Duncan Campbell’s presentation at the general meeting. I trust we will have a good turnout for this very entertaining speaker.
